July is when you really know summer is here. The roads are less busy, the buses too. Dublin airport reports record traveller numbers and generally we're all in pretty good form cause we're either going on holiday or we're just back from them. But just like it never sleeps, the internet never takes a holiday. So here are some of the cool things I've found in the last week.
If Pinterest is one of your channels or you're considering it as one then this is interesting. The buyable Pin is starting to roll out this week. So you'll now be able to sell from within Pinterest!
Some of the criticisms levelled at Instagram in the past are that the file size they save images at is both restrictive and poor image quality. Looks like they're trying to fix that problem.
Wasn't it great when you couldn't tell who unfriended you on Facebook. That way you didn't have to obsess over why people might unfriend you and start going through all your life decisions. If you really want to know though. Go here
Good news for those of us who use paid media to support Twitter posts. Twitter have announced a number of changes to their targeting functionality. Definitely worth a read if you use Twitter as a platform. Check out the updates on their blog
A couple of weeks ago I sent a story about some banks trialling emoji for their online banking passwords. Now Mastercard are trialling using selfies and facial recognition for online shoppers. Get your duckface ready!
The internet is full. Yes, you read that right. The system designed to create IP address has run out of permutations so it can't open up new spaces anymore. Good job there's a new alternative system in place. Phew.
