That's pretty much all anyone has been talking about in the digital world for the last 10 days or so. Even though it's not rolled out world wide yet, it has managed to add $11b to the value of Nintendo stock. And it's so much more than just a game. It's an advertising platform, a tool to help explore cities and a tool to help you meet new people. But it's still a litte bit worrying from a security point of view. I'll link to a story on that below.
It's true to say that the Permissions requested by Pokémon Go have been updated, but the initial version was pretty concerning. By this point you know I've got a security bee in my bonnet. Read this and you'll get why.
Channel 4 have always been really good at promoting their wares, and their promo for the Paralympics in Rio is no different. It's the return of the Superhumans and it's definitely worth a watch. Check it out here
If you have an iPhone then you're very aware of iMessage. You're also probably aware that iOS10 is in beta and will release this year. iMessage is one of the things getting a major overhaul. Check out all the new features you can expect.
The Post Truth world in which we now live has led and is leading to some incredible things. Brexit being one. This is a really good piece on what's happening and why, sometimes, it's better to have 'just the facts, ma'm'.
Another security story. This one will certainly be seen as a win for the tech industry. The US government basically want access to ALL our the personal data but if it's outside the US, they can't have it. Thanks Microsoft.
This weeks Covetable item has just been announced and pretty much EVERYONE wants one. Including me. Retailing at $60 and dropping in November you can expect queues and waiting lists for this Nintendo Classic Mini.
Something to dwell on. While you read this email, that will be shared on social media and other places, think about the type of people who commit atrocities such as those that happened last night in Nice. These people don't want you to share your ideas and thoughts and be free to discuss them. They want you to live in fear. They want modern live to become so complicated that you'll give up on the notion of expressing yourself, in whatever form that expression takes. Don't give in. Don't stop sharing. Don't stop expressing.
